Systems Engineer (two positions)

First Position: Network focused

This person will be involved in routine support issues troubleshooting, debugging, and fixing issues with applications, systems and networks. Additionally, this person will be involved in the setup of new customers on a various workflow systems. This will involve travel and customer interaction. A good balance of knowledge on networks and software applications is desired.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 8+ years work experience in the required skills areas
  • Expertise in designing, planning and implementing LAN/WAN/WLAN (Cisco centric infrastructure)
  • Expertise in Virtualization Technologies like VMWare, Hyper-V, etc.
  • Expertise in designing, planning and implementing Active Directory within an environment with multiple forests, domains and other trust relationships
  • Experience with data replication technologies (, EMC, Legato, WAN Sync etc.)
  • Experience with Network and Systems monitoring tools like HP Openview, Whats Up Gold etc.
  • Experience with information systems auditing and security
  • Experience with setup and Management of Storage Area Networks (SAN’s)
  • Background with disaster recovery practices and concepts
  • Telecommunications infrastructure, VOIP experience is a plus
  • Database management experience including deployment, backup, restores, optimization, etc.  a plus
  • An employment history as a successful a senior technician/engineer in a web based application environment utilizing multiple tools and languages.
  • Experience with pre-press or ad development workflows a plus

IT Environment Experience Required (Operating systems, Tools, Languages, Products, Applications, etc.):

Cisco (Routing, Switching, BGP, IBGP, VPN), Windows Server 2003/2008 (Active Directory, DNS, MSCS, IIS, FTP, MOM), Network and System Monitoring, Disaster Recovery, Windows Clients (XP/Windows 7), MS SQL Server (2005/2008), MS Office – (Access, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

A Bachelor’s degree is required. Cisco certification and MCSE preferred.

 

Second Position: Applications support

WebSphere

The ideal candidate for this position is an expert on implementing and supporting MS windows based servers in a production environment. Experience with root cause analysis on web technologies such as IIS, Java and IBM WebSphere. A candidate for this position will have a minimum of 5 years work experience in the required skills areas.

This person will be involved in routine support issues troubleshooting, debugging, and fixing issues with applications, systems and networks. Additionally, this position will be involved in the setup of new customers on a various workflow systems. This will involve travel and customer interaction. A good balance of knowledge on networks and software applications is desired.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 5+ years work experience in the required skills areas 
  • Experience in WebSphere installations, deployments and administration as well as other web based technologies (IIS, Tomcat, etc.)
  • Sound scripting skills and ability to automate common tasks
  • Create and debug scripts for automating day to day tasks and deployments
  • Define and document ongoing administration and maintenance tasks
  • Desktop support for Macs is a plus (Windows required)         
  • Installation, deployment, monitoring and tuning of missions critical applications that reside on WebSphere Application Server (Some IIS as well).
  • Troubleshooting systems issues and leveraging scripting skills to ensure  SLA’s are met
  • Deploying and maintaining databases that drive mission critical applications, the ability to further tune and debug theses databases is a plus
  • Desktop Support for Mac’s and PC’s
  • Good understanding of network technologies required; advanced knowledge of network technologies (Routers, Switches, Load Balancers, Packet sniffing tools, IPS/IDS systems ) a plus
  • Data replication technologies (Replistor, WanSync, etc..) a plus
  • Programming languages utilized in web-based environments a plus                                       
  • Network technologies (routers, wwitches) a plus

  • Virtualization technology experience a plus

Project Manager, Direct/Contract

The project manager must have experience in designing and leading work groups in the creation of layouts for various products such as newspaper advertising for print and online. The project manager will have detailed understanding of the processes involved in preparing materials for reproduction through the use of desktop publishing systems and design tools. A hands-on working knowledge of the processes involved in design, copy fitting, layout, and color separation in the preparation of multiple types of printed material. He or she needs to have prior experience as an analyst in consulting type engagements, such as process definition and analysis.
